Yes. You don't break into other people's house for any reason. Period. Let the cops handle it. If you don't get your crap back, secure your property better. One criminal act doesn't make a second criminal act right unless it's self-defense, and then it's not a crime. This isn't self-defense.

1) I know where my property is
2) Cops do not care nor will they help
3) I take it back myself.

That just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

You're really digging yourself a hole on this. No one specifically said that LSU players got PS4s from their bowl.

But it's more likely that he got this from his parents than it is that he got it in some sort of a package (not implying improperly) for playing football? You see, it's being implied that Im racist because it's assumed that I think black families cant/wont buy there kids nice shite, when in reality Im just trying to say that the likelihood of every kid on LSU's team that has a PS4 or something of equivalent value didnt get it from their parents. That is all. Is that racist? Well the majority of the team is black, and alot of these players come from lesser households. That's not racist, that's reality. It appears Jennings came from a better situation (is his mom a single mom or are his parents still married? Is his Dad heavily involved in his life? Sorry, I know those are racist questions as well, but dont act like they arent valid.) so I understand that his family is capable of giving him nice things. Alot of these kids arent from good situations.

They didn't break into a house.

They didn't break into the apartment either.

One of them broke into a bedroom in the apartment.

It appears that all of them may have committed "unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling" by entering the apartment and possibly overstaying their permission to stay.

When you kick in the door of an occupied residence, it is. The roommate had nothing to do with this, and his door is kicked in by a bunch of football players.

All they had to do was demand he sit there, and they could get a kidnapping charge. Stupid and dangerous.

To 95% of us it is more likely that our parents would have bought us a PS4 or some nice shoes if they weren't paying any of our college expenses.

Its college. I would probably break in and get it back too.

Unless I had to damage the property to get it. But this isn't that big of a deal IMO.

They did damage CAMPUS property during their felonious break-in.

Saying someone committed a crime against you, where there is not threat to immediate bodily harm, doesnt allow you to commit a felony.

Read again, those are just examples of bowl gifts in general, not specific to LSU. You think there would be more discussion if LSU players got an ipad AND a PS4 AND a Samsung Galaxy tablet

God damnit, I know that isnt specific to LSU. It's an easy assumption that if other schools are getting packages that have some of these items in them, then LSU would too.

How can you proclaim to come here wanting honest discussion when you have no clue as to the answers to these questions?

Seriously.

YEEESSSS!!!!

A PS4 is WELL within the price range of a D-1 college football player. Probably could earn the money on their own pretty easily too.

Of course. I would be willing to bet that 95% of the people posting on this site has a mean household income that is more than double of what most of the players household income was growing up.

In student apartments? I'm pretty sure LSU is a gun free zone and possession of one would be grounds for expulsion.

Seriously, whats so funny?

A petty theft is a small problem. Especially if they have the locater on the laptop.

i dont think waiting more than 4-5 days is asking too much, do you? Instead he went and committed a felonious act.

Oh, bullshite. Come on now man. You know the demographics of the team and college athletics in general, you know the demographics of this site, and you know how household income is broken down by demographics. Is it really that far of a reach?

Even if those families are less fortunate, they still have some money, and guess what? A lot of their money is actually freed up by their son getting a full aid package.

I think most families could give a $400 playstation if they no longer had to pay to clothe, feed, and house that child. Jesus man, how destitute do you think these families are? Our players don't come from Haiti.

I know that you are ASSUMING this about AJ based on demographic norms when it doesn't necessarily pertain to each player. In this case, you are dead wrong, as he comes from a middle class family in Marietta and had a very solid family life.

And families with that background routinely give their children items with the price point of playstations for college, especially when they have no other expenses for them due to scholarships.

We know the demographics. I think we are pushing back at your assumption at just how poor and broke these families are.

How were they supporting a 6'4" 210 lb high schooler, but they can't afford a pair of shoes when they no longer have to pay for that kid?
