Use Selsun Blue with selenium. Put it on where you have the spots and let it dry. Then take a shower. Do this for a week or two and it should go away. Also Under Armour or similar shirts that breathe help too.

This is the correct answer. And yes, it is caused by a fungus.

this is a very effective treatment for tinea versicolor.
also make sure your 'sunspots' aren't Pityriasis alba, which is a very different condition than the fungus although they both can look alike.
