My dad tore his ACL up there. Shot a pretty good 8 point down off the creek, flipped the 4 wheeler twice driving back. Ended up having to put it in the front basket of the 4 wheeler to keep the front down. My big one dropped in the food plot 100 yards off the main road so that would have been a nightmare had to ran off.
Place went up for sale a while back if I had the funds I'd buy it, they were asking ~1.5mill I think.

when i was a kid we had a lease on the buffalo river, shot a bunch of deer every year. it flooded every year so you couldnt build anything permanent...our camp was an old bread delivery truck
then one year we found out the owner wanted to clear cut it and plant soybeans. he ran us off, cut down the most beautiful beech and hardwood woods you ever saw, and promptly lost everything the next flood

You on the left or right side of the road heading to Lake Mary?
On the left way back in the woods 7 miles to be exact.

That's some hard hunting back there if you shoot something it needs to be worth it
Yea we have certain stands that are understood it better be a wall hanger or you not getting help. When its in the 20's outside and you're sweating in short sleeves because your working to pull up a deer, you know you've put in some work.
Woods are beautiful up there but they can be brutal to walk/hunt.

Is that "hard times hunting club"?
Posted on 6/17/15 at 3:25 pm to Citica8
No ot sure where that club is. Im not in a club per say. I hunt my friends land, 500 acres in Ft Adams. But there are a couple clubs out there that we pass thru to get to your land. Outfront Hunting Club, Double Diamond (bunch of Shaw workers from what I know) and Clark Creek Hunting Club.

It's been a while since I've hunted out there a friend of the family has 20+ acres around the pond store with a camp, but hunted with us in our old club 10 miles towards Angola Rd.

Some people insisted on getting off the creek and doing the primitive trail. 4 miles in half of them are about to pass out. I thought we were gonna have to call in
I hiked primitive with the La Hiking Club a few years back. Some fat lady fell, and they had to send a Rhino down to carry her up the hill. La peeps not used to any sort of elevation.

I've hiked it twice. Really is a fun time and a short drive from BR which is nice
Those pictures you posted are almost identical of the pictures I took. Like we both took photos at the same exact spot and same exact things
