The question is whether or not the show will confirm that a faceless man killed Balon.
Are they combining Euron and Victarion? Did they cast Damphair?

If they treat the Iron Islands storyline in the show like Dorne, I'm going to
. FWIW both of those story lines were mehhhhh to me in the books to begin with.

quote:Neither did I. I hated the Iron Islands chapters, for the most part, but I think GRRM meant for Dorne to be emotionally-driven and illogical (for some reason), and the show delivered. I hate what they did with it, though, but based on the books, I still wish we could all live in Dorne.

Both the books & the show did an excellent job with Oberyn that the other Martells/bastards are a letdown in comparison.

Actually, I think the show would be better off depicting Balon's death instead of doing it off-screen like the book. In fact my preferred cold open for this season is Euron pushing Balon off a bridge. It's a great way to introduce the character and a chance to properly send-off Balon.

Eh, the show has reprised characters who have been absent for more than one season before, like Kevan Lannister. Nothing a judiciously selected clip in the "Previously..." couldn't address, like when they reminded us of Benjen in the Season 5 finale. Now that's a gap!

We've already seen Damphair when he "baptized" Theon, but seeing as how there have been three Mountains, two Daarios and two Myrcellas, I guess that actor's job is not secure.

Yeah I'd imagine they would recast a bit role like that turning into a major one

The guy who baptized Theon was not identified. He could have just been any old Drowned Priest. It's not a recast if it's a different character.

I'm intertested to see where they take the Umber storyline. Possibly has to do with little stark. Looks like they have casting calls for 2 large northern men for a prominent northern family in the north. Smalljon?

Not because he's black, of course, but because he's such a bitchin' actor.

Smalljon is the prevailing theory. It's too bad if that means the Greatjon won't return. The guy they got in Season 1 was awesome. I understand that scheduling conflicts prevented him from being Season 2, but I was always hoping he'd eventually come back, especially when one of the writers pointed out that in show canon, his absence at the Red Wedding means he wasn't captured.
I've long suspected they'd use him in place of Wyman Manderly - pointedly, Bran instructed Osha to bring Rickon to the Last Hearth as opposed to Skagos as in the book. It looks like the Smalljon will be the vengeful northern lord in the TV version.

Jackass.

I'd have to see that guy in costume. He's not what I pictured at all.

The first mountain was great for the part, why did he get replaced. The third mountain was too small.
I bet technically there is a fourth as I doubt that Icelandic guy is in that suit as he is not that tall.
