Do you need the Waze app open for it to warn you of radar traps and police? Or does it always run in the background? If so, how much data does that thing eat up tracking location even when the app isn't open?

1. Stealth
2. Yes (has saved me thousands)
3. Most of the time
In Virginia "they say" the LEOs can detect your detector. Hmm, I have no experience with them being able to detect a detector.

Maybe it's because I am older, or do mostly city driving, but I don't speed much anymore. You get more life out of your vehicle, better gas mileage and less likely to die on the road.

I have a 959, but haven't put it in my new truck. There really isn't a good place to keep it out of the way. Btw, needs to be on channel 19

that's just a stock pic. Mines been worked on dead keys 2w and swings 52w and I've had that Texas Star modified a bit as well it's now got 2 driving 4 and pushes around 1000w cleanly

Passport Redline...dual antenna for long range interstate or highway detection. Has K, Ka, X, and laser bands.it is very accurate, I opted not to go with the one with all the inner city camera info in lieu of the dual antenna. They both run $499--has paid for itself 100x over.

the way I look at it is every minute I spend sitting behind some a-hole or stuck at a red light is a minute I cant spend doing something I enjoy. shite adds up when you drive at least 2 hours a day.

maybe its just me, but I feel more likely to die stuck in a pack of vehicles that are going slow because the assholes are playing on their phone.

I'd rather die going 100 than 70

move closer to work if you hate being on the road that much. don't drive fast and angry and make it more unsafe for the rest of us.

Waze makes radar detectors useless.
Not if you are the first car to spot the cop

Waze, my trusty V1 and my awareness have provided me with many years of being ticket free.
I'm tempted to try the Redline (or Bel equivalent). Does anyone know if these two models are due for a remake anytime soon?
