Yeah, 30 full years of an uncomfortable non-friendship.

If you believe that, you are delusional.

Oh, and maybe they finally were NOT friends after Paterno found out Sandusky was a boy-diddler. But, if that was the case, then that would put the onus right back on Papa Joe again, wouldn't it?

I had just watched the documentary today as well.

On one side, I see a great coach who did so much for a university and the pretty gutwrenching downfall.

On the other side I see multiple people who had direct knowledge of this happening and did the very bare mininum of reporting to the corrrect people to put a stop to it. which led to a decabe more of abuse. I also saw a seriously crazy fanbase.

In the end, the pain of the university, fanbase and coaching staff do not outweigh the lives that are ruined by the trauma endured on PSU's campus by a football coach. All of which could have been stopped had Petrino and the other administration done more. Punishment iss deserved and shutting down the football program would not have been too harsh either.
