Was high school baseball in Louisiana always this deep and talented?

Our state seems to be extremely strong at producing college level talent. Was it always this way? Or has LSU's success in baseball maybe spurned growth in baseball in the state?

define "always".
It's been with way for some time. Skip got much of his best talent locally.

Based on the number of travel ball discussions on the OT and MSB, we are one step away from genetically modifying fetus' to crank out baseball cyborg children.

I think you mean "spurred" not "spurned".
But Louisiana has always had a lot of talent. Skip bringing LSU to prominence and sending a bunch of his assistants to schools around the state, plus guys like Robichaux and Rick Jones being good coaches helped further cultivate the talent in state too.
As the college programs got better, more kids grew up wanting to play at those programs.

Louisiana has been pretty deep for Baseball since atleast the mid-late 80's.

we've always the athletes but most, if there was life after hs, would play football, also didn't have fall, travel, 120 games/yr, etc., kids totally immersed into one sport year round, kids played most or all sports in the season that they occurred

Louisiana has always and will always be a hot bed for talent as long as high schools continue putting money into programs.
Under Smoke Laval and Turtle's finals years they got away from the instate crop and it lead to stronger Bama, Ole Miss, Miss St, Tulane teams '03-'06 ish.
Mainieri fixed that issue immediately and has for the most part locked up the states talent pool.

Well let's not forget that our two best players this year are from New Mexico and Missouri.
Hale and Chinea are from Florida, Fraley is from Delaware, and Bugg is from California.
LSU would have been nowhere this year without that.

Majority of the starters are from LA. Every school has kids from other states.

Bregman, Hale, Chinea, Fraley, and Zardon are from out of state. That's 5 out of 9 offensive starters. On Friday nights it's 6 out of 10 unless a lefty starts.

What's your point?
Every team in America has starters from out of state kids.

That LSU has its pick of high school players in Louisiana and they can't field a consistent CWS team without looking elsewhere.
Maybe Louisiana isn't that deep and talented. That's my point.

lol, why wouldnt they take advantage of their program's popularity?
"sorry Mr Bregman, we dont need you. We have a player in LA that isnt as good that we will take instead".

No. Louisiana is deep in parents who think their kids are talented and deserve a scholarship.

So doesn't that refute the original thesis that Louisiana has all this talent? I have no problem with that.
Somebody said that the majority of LSU's starters come from Louisiana and I proved that it's not true. That's all I did.
Only 3 non-LSU Louisiana teams have made the CWS in the last 30 or so years. And Tulane had a lot of good out-of-state players on their teams too, such as Micah Owings and Jake Gautreau. Hell, 10 players on Tulane's roster this year are from Texas.

LA football is loaded too. They still take players from out of state, because they have the luxury of being a top program and recruiting these type of players.
5 of our top 9 hitters are from Louisiana.
Poche and Bain are our 2/3 Starters, both from LA
and a bunch of our important bullpen guys are LA
That's a lot of local talent, whichever way you want to try and cut it

Tulane, as long as Rick Jones has been there, has always recruited nationally.
They have to be extra picky. It's expensive to go to Tulane. Like $60k a year.
