Hate on the vegans because you're not strong or caring enough to be like them. Yet when the earth is completely destroyed by your gluttony and ignorance, you'll be wishing you had made different decisions. Do some research on what the meat industry and humanity in general are doing to our planet. Animals are going extinct in the Arctic due to there being less and less ice there every year. All while we are genetically altering other animals in mass amounts and pumping them with steroids and antibiotics so that fat fricks like you can enjoy a cheap meal. Then you have some animals that are kept as pets and cherished in America, while the Chinese are using those animals to make cheaper leather and sell it back to Americans. If you didn't catch on to all of that, the first point was about polar bears and how they need the ice to hunt; the second was about cows, pigs, and chickens; and the third was about dogs and the dog leather trade. Lol You idiots will never win this argument. But please, don't hesitate to try. wink emoticon There is no excuse for your stupidity.

Peter Singer (born 6 July 1946) is an Australian moral philosopher. He is currently the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University, and a Laureate Professor at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics at the University of Melbourne... He is known in particular for his book, Animal Liberation (1975), a canonical text in animal rights/liberation theory.
quote:

He popularized the term "speciesism" in the book, which had been coined by Richard D. Ryder to describe the exploitative treatment of animals.
quote:

In Animal Liberation, Singer argues against what he calls speciesism: discrimination on the grounds that a being belongs to a certain species. He holds the interests of all beings capable of suffering to be worthy of equal consideration and that giving lesser consideration to beings based on their species is no more justified than discrimination based on skin color. He argues that animals rights should be based on their capacity to feel pain more than on their intelligence. In particular, he argues that while animals show lower intelligence than the average human, many severely intellectually challenged humans show equally diminished, if not lower, mental capacity and that some animals have displayed signs of intelligence (for example, primates learning elements of American sign language and other symbolic languages) sometimes on a par with that of human children. Therefore, intelligence does not provide a basis for giving nonhuman animals any less consideration than such intellectually challenged humans.

I've always wondered why the PETA folks still drive cars...I mean, think about how many poor little defenseless little love bugs and Mosquitos are killed just on the commute to and from work??

...oh yeah, I forgot, love bugs aren't cute and cuddly and don't fit their agenda...Amirite?

It's always great to remind them how domesticating animals as pets has led to many defenseless species that can no longer return to the wild successfully. And how many of these warriors of justice love those genetically-altered mini-dogs that are as fragile as a sand castle at high tide. But yeah, shame on those zoos.

While I certainly don't agree with PETA's position and the tone of the quote certainly sucks. But there doesn't seem to be anything inherently wrong with this statement. Other than the dog leather trade which I have never heard before.

When they preface with
quote:

Hate on the vegans because you're not strong or caring enough to be like them
Then going on about one aspect of human sustenance, narrowing a multivariate situation to very restricted reasonings for earth to be dying.
Then finish with this
quote:

There is no excuse for your stupidity.

It's not even subtle the amount of rhetoric that is dripping in the whole thing. Not to mention the smugness of it all. No better way to present your argument than by condescending the audience.

Here is another from their page.

Fishing isn't a sport, hobby, nor something to pass the time. Fishing is cruelty, murder, and completely lackluster of passion.

I'm pretty passionate about a 2lb spec on the line.
I'm even more passionate about feeding it to my family.

The PETA freaks are terrorists. Not sure how they haven't been labeled as such as of yet.
A few years back, they vandalized the LSU vet school causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
