I posted this in the music board, but this is probably a better spot. I have a Marantz 4430 receiver that is working, but gives a random and loud pop. Then the music cuts out, sometimes to return immediately, sometimes it triggers a protection mode and has to be turned off for a minute. The guy I bought it from was up front about it probably needing a recap soon.

Is there anyone in the BR area that does that sort of work? I can solder a bit, and could probably swap out a capacitor or 2, but wouldn't know where to begin trouble shooting.

AudioKarma Marantz Forum may give you a lead.

I'd find a good rebuild guy online and ship it to him... Little bit of a hassle but you know it will be done right.

If you don't want to go through the trouble I'll buy it from you.

I have a Marantz 1250 that needs work. Loud buzz/hum thru the speakers, though the amp still functions. May have to read up on those forums and see what it needs for repair.
