Just went with my son. Few bits of advice:
1. Look online for admission price coupons.
2. Buy a dozen cheap minifigures before you go. All the workers wear the figures on their name tags and will swap them with you. Your kid chooses the one he wants to trade and the one he gets for it. It may have been my sons favorite thing in the park.
3. Get there early.
4. At entry, hurry to the back of the park and do the boats and the ford driving experience. Those two rides get LONG because they are slow moving.
5. Go see the water show. It pays homage to the old cypress gardens water show.
6. Lower your expectations because it is a small park. It is still fun for a kid that age.

I'm going in a few weeks and have a couple questions.

Any advantages to preferred parking?

I've read that you can have upto an hour wait to get into the parking lot. Did you find this to be the case when you went?

Did you go over a weekend?

To add to SEC dragonmasters excellent post. The fried chicken place right next to the ford driving experience is Really good. Probably the best park food I ever had and the price was reasonable considering they had you trapped inside the park.
