quote:Answer me this one, please. In the last 30 days, there have been what, 35 or 36 black residents of Baltimore killed by other blacks (black on black). Pretty much not one frick was given. Where Al be at? Where Jesse be at. Where the mayor be at? Where the riots now? Where the high school kids throwing rocks be at?

Just talked to a friend who is a Baltimore Cop. She said they aren't actually backing off. They are just being more careful and looking out for each other. Strategizing a bit more than they have in the past. Rather than just waltzing into the lions den. She will go on more dangerous calls instead of calling in other officers because they are married with kids. Also said they are getting her back with people who make it obvious they want, or think it will be easier, to hurt her because she is a woman.
Last thing she said was that she is trying to use every call she can to restore faith, and that communication is the key. She is able to get a lot of people to calm down just by showing them she truly does care.
Good cops are started to become forgotten because of the bad ones.

Didn't the mayor suggest that these killings happened because the hoodrats felt like they didn't have a voice and were still reeling from their anger at the cops?

Which doesn't change the fact that he died in police custody from injuries sustained in police custody. His rap sheet or quality of the arrest does absolutely nothing to alter that. The police are public servants, and as such need to be held accountable to the public. And that is true to a much wider extent than this one incident. You can't just write off cops not doing their jobs because they don't want to risk bad PR or some potential legal issues.
I agree with the first part of that, but you have to also understand that the officers are very aware of these over charges and that officers that really had nothing to do with the initial arrest or the injuries sustained by means unknown at this time then you can expect the officers to not be proactive at all.

Are you fricking serious, she actually said that? She basically just said its ok for blacks to kill blacks, but no one else better dare to, especially cops. WTF have we turned into?

What are you trying to say?

But that doesn't really make it ok. I mean, I don't know what a realistic solution is to these problems. It involves major societal changes. Cops need some protections for their actions, no doubt. But they still need to be held accountable to the people when they clearly overstep. I'm not saying that necessarily happened in this instance, but there are plenty of examples where cops were clearly in the wrong and skated by.

You also have to understand that each department is different and each jurisdiction is different with different laws and circumstances.

They over charged the officers and charged officers that should not have been charged. If they don't have proof of what actually caused his death how will they convict the ones that are guilty? This trial is going to be a mess becaue the prosecution team let politics not law dicate the charges.

Eh. Once they were charged, they were blasted out pretty much everywhere.
Nowhere near as much as Darren Wilson or the idiot in Florida who killed Trayvon Martin.

I'll agree with that.

And it only takes the actions of 1 bad officer to whipe out the actions of 1,000 good officers.

Agreed. I'm a broken record about this but if Obama wanted to create a true legacy, he should devote his post-Presidency to this area. It will take a figure like him to create change. Just imagine what could happen if he really took the reigns on that issue. Too bad he'll most likely either be standing beside Sharpton or making cameo appearances in movies. Such a wasted Presidency.
A major change that needs to happen is there needs to be more diversity of thought within the leadership of the black community. Its not a positive when an entire race votes for one party and leaders within its community perpetuate the same, tired messages.

You and I both know they only give a frick when a black is killed by a white person. I don't know if you watch Fox News, but a fox new reported put the mayor on blast for the exact point you are trying to make with me. I agree with you. She tried to dance around it, he cornered her, and she looked like a deer in headlights.

The only bad part is the part where he asks her about the rally's that she's planning for the 30+ people killed in Baltimore. Or even for the mother and young child. She just stood there with a blank look on her face.

Can't wait til Obama starts race pimping for the money like Al and Jesse after his presidency. Presidential Race Relations, LLC. He will make a mint.

It'd be great if they worked together.
