Late July. We'll be there about 4 days. Must see, Must do, BBQ restaurant advice? Thanks in advance. (I'm thinking HS Nat park is a given?)

Why the frick would go to Hot Springs for vacation?

McClard's. 45-minute wait, but it's the best place in town to eat.
Why do people go to HS when the horses aren't running at Oaklawn? A day at the track makes HS a decent weekend getaway.

Never been there. Something different from the beach. Are you saying it sucks?

Wouldn't be Bill McClard's family, would it? Anyone remember him?

Anything you do there will be neat. Such a great area of the country!

The lakes are the real reason to go to HS when the horses aren't racing. Lake Hamilton is overcrowded, IMO, but Ouachita is beautiful.
Kids? They've just remodeled and re-opened the Mid America Science Museum. There's Magic Springs, but it's pretty small. Don't expect much and you'll be alright.
Rolando's is excellent, and if the weather is nice, their back patio is great.
ETA:
Garvin Woodland Gardens is quite popular, too.

I've been on a lot of vacations. Worst one ever was in hot springs. Don't do it. You'll be wishing you were at the beach.

Arlington Hotel for sure. You'll be close to everything. Voted one of the best hotel bars in USA. Badass restaurant with nice brunch and sweet seafood buffet (Friday nights i think)
Walk Bathhouse Row, check out the bathhouses. Superior Brewery is a nice restaurant/craft beer place. Cool art in one of the other bathhouses. I've never actually gotten a hot bath but you may want to
Observation tower is a nice tourist type thing
Walk Central Ave and do some shopping. Lots of cool stores/restaurants along there. Pancake house for breakfast
Garvan Woodland Gardens is nice as well
Source: I go at least once a year

We have a house on Hamilton. If you go with renting a boat, I'd do Lake Ouachita. Hamilton is small & way overcrowded come July.
The Pancake Shop downtown is good for breakfast![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

At Magic Springs they have a concert series for Saturdays. For $10 a seat its not a bad place to listen to some good music IMO. Shows usually start at 8pm
