None of you dumbasses know how to wear cologne properly.

You don't lather it on your clothes. Put a small amount on your neck after you shave, just enough so that people in your very personal space can smell it. It shouldn't be something that people passing on the other side of the room can smell, but only people who are very close.

I have applied it like that for years, and on a fairly regular basis when someone has to lean in for whatever reason I get "you smell really nice!"

It's a nice private touch if you apply it properly and don't overdo it.

This. I guess all of the "it's rude" and "we have a no scent policy" talk is a reaction to people bathing in the stuff.

but the only person that I want getting that close to me is my wife, and she would most likely say "why do you smell like douche?"
