Army National Guard (full time) - 12B - Combat Engineer

After 12 years enlisted, 4 months after making E-7, I decided to go over to the dark side.

Commissioned Engineer Branch in Dec 99 - made O-4 in March 08.

Injured in an IED blast in July 08. 10 surgeries later they medically retired me.

Still work for the Louisiana National Guard as a State employee.

Enlisting in the Armed Service was the best decision I ever made - I highly recommend it.

There are some cool POG MOSs out there. If you pick up Cpl soon look into 0211. That's cool fricking shite. Way cooler than being a grunt. Trust me buddy, I'm looking out for you. I've been a grunt my whole career and have seen what all the other guys do. I regret not later moving after I did a hitch in the infantry.

I'll prolly do that but I don't even have a deployment under my belt, which I really wanna get a deployment as a grunt before I think about making a lat move.

When he said "the other was for the DUI," I think he meant one of his page 11's, so there may well be some documentation.
If (for whatever reason) his current command won't support his wish to transfer to active, then he will have to talk to a prior service recruiter. It would certainly help if he was squared away and had the endorsement of his superiors.

I texted him. No answer. I know he transferred over as a Captain from the Corps. He's a reservist but I think he's been on active status since he made the switch. Went through the training squadron about 3 or 4 years ago I guess.

I recently retired with over 21 years of active duty.

I served in combat arms and out of combat arms. I served as a private and later as an officer. I served as an airborne soldier with the US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg.

I am on staff at AFGSC HQ now. Was in the test world and DO of the B-52 Weapons School prior to this job, so I haven't been in a line BUFF squadron since '09.

Lol, I'm literally following your glidepath right now. Just left ft hood, headed to Carroll. When were you there?

I was at Caroll in 07, then went to Hood right after in 08. You not in ADA are you?

Since you are so far south, spend your weekends in Busan and Dageu. Busan got pretty wild.....like no rules down there but im sure a lot of places are off limits by now. There is not a lot of military down there so you won't run into the typical juicy girl reading the same ole script trying to get you to by a drink.
