C'mon guys. The real Masterchef started two weeks ago...in Australia.
If you think the American version cares, you haven't seen anything yet. The cooks are better on the Aussie version, there is no drama or fighting, and I'm more impressed every year with that show.
Australia's the best show, UK has the best cooks.

Jesse survived but was never shown one on one during broadcast. Hopefully he gets involved.

I never really like the baking challenges, but damn some of those apple pies looked good.
Except for that goat cheese one. Gross.

That was pretty nasty. At first she was not even going to use a pie crust and Gordon pretty much talked her into it.

Some of them really overthink what they're doing. All you had to do was make an apple pie. Make a standard apple pie and you are good. You don't have to take the crust out or use goat cheese or use blueberries.

I don't like the constant pushing of the new judge. We KNOW she's good. You don't have to say it twenty times an episode.
Also, I don't give a frick about the fat woman with no confidence.

I agree with this, she is a good cook but that shy school girl act with that hideous laugh is just terrible.

Exactly. Even if you never made one, you just came through 30,000 contestants to get to number 22 and you threw a chance away by making that crap with goat cheese and blueberries? Really, goat cheese and blueberries? Who does that? How in the hell did she get past the other 29,980 contestants?

And yet they let her through.

Anybody remember the poster who said he was on the first or second season?
He said they got basic courses in cooking techniques before they had to display them for the show.

You'd think she would gain some confidence by making it this far, but I bet they just play it up with that nervous giggle all season.

Where is Joe?
Did they have a show with the tryouts like they usually do?

Joe left. I think he's doing MasterChef in Italy.
Posted on 5/28/15 at 2:20 pm to Overbrook
Joe is actually running his 30 restaurant empire and taking a break from judging. As far as the tryouts go, there was over 30000 contestants to start with and that footage is only talked about and not filmed for the public according to their FB page.

Joe's got another show, 'Restaurant Startup'. I think it's on CNBC. It's not bad.
You can tell when the competition starts, the home cooks on Masterchef are of a much higher level now than the first couple years.
I like the Professionals version from England the best. Those sumbitches really know their way around a kitchen.

'Restaurant Startup'

I wonder if he was pushed out the door or left on his own? 'Restaurant Startup' has been on the air for quite a few months now. When I first saw it I automatically wondered what it meant for Masterchef.

Joe doesn't throw the insults on that show like he does on masterchef. He was funny on masterchef.
They used to show some of the tryouts on masterchef.
Personally, I like these shows when they were more amateurish. Top Chef is 100% professional, and pretty high end, now.
