quote:This is how I feel. His only other coaching stint in the past 20 years was with an absolute shithouse Clippers team tat was doing Clippers things for his one year there.
he killed it with a good roster in PHX...can't really blame him for sucking when Stoudemire left and Nash was a shell of himself. That roster sucked.
...dunno anything about his HC days before PHX.
Plus, it's silly to think he hasn't grown up at all as a coach over 20 years of working on the staffs of some of the best basketball minds in the game.
Again, I don't think there's such a thing as a slam dunk hire in NBA coaching anymore, but I think he's as good a candidate as any. There are plenty of reasons to doubt him, but same goes for any other available coach.

Anthony Davis in that high octane prime Stoudemire role is very appealing
...and I agree, this team is built to absolutely destroy in that type of offense...would definitely be fun to watch.

Yep. If anyone read that article I linked the other day that analyzed all hires since 2001, you see that it's kind of scary (if not depressing )
I have to believe they'll talk to multiple candidates. In the end, though, it's a crapshoot.
ETA: If it's possible to have an offensive minded head coach with a top defensive assistant and make it work, great. Thing is, if you're pushing and scoring, it automatically follows that there are plenty of scoring opportunities on the other end. Oh, lawd, I don't know what we should do.
