Seriously...Where did the water go?
I'm not all that well verse in desert water disappearing.
It ends up somewhere else on earth, no?
There is this interesting concept called evaporation.
You should look into it.

Yeah, no shite. But what I'm asking here is the water vapor enters into the atmosphere. Clouds and rain ensue.
It's raining somewhere, right? Where?
Anyone else catch that it's the worst since 1930's when they were filling it? So was the drought in the 1930's worse than it is now?

Well they'd just piss it out and return it back to the water pool so...
Of course it's diluted with cocaine and tequila.

I saw this recently in person. I didn't recognize that it was at such a low point. What seemed like a much more fragile ecosystem on the verge of collapse was Lake Walker, just a few hundred miles north of here. Its basin is clearly demarcated and declining of the last few decades. Partially due to drout, partially from upstream damming, but the resultant decline of lake depth, increasing salinity, and recent loss of a freshwater fishery was fairly astounding to see in person.

People joke about that but the Mexicans in Cali use WELL over 100 million gallons a day

This is not very scientific, but watch the first Superman with Christopher Reeves. They have a few scenes with Jimmy taking pictures standing on top of the Hoover Dam. The ring is present in 1978 when the movie was filmed. The ring is larger today than 37 years ago, but not by much.
During the mid seventies, the nightly news would report on the thermal winters. Today we are warned about global warming.

I was on the river last week and at the 'abandoned' Echo Bay marina not too long ago. The pictures show some old pumps but they just moved the docks and you could still rent boats there as recently as October. They have some nice stripers that swim right up to the front door of the marina.

Water all those golf courses in the desert
If you read this really fast it sounds like a question rather than a statement.
Well done you were able to convey 2 different thoughts in one sentence....

It's gonna take a lot of Comet to scrub that out.

This is why you don't run the water while you brush your teeth. #waterconservation

All the lakes around Dallas have gotten filled right on up this spring.

This is the remnants of a town that used to be covered by Lake Mead. Now it's completely visible due to how much the water has receded.

That picture looks like a crawfish farmer's wet dream. Photographic evidence of a problem with the water

Saw the movie Viva Las Vegas recently, which was filmed in the mid 60's. There's a very noticeable ring then too.
