This came from a players mouth, Jared Fosters professor told CPM that he would have helped Foster out if Foster would have showed up to class within the last 6 weeks. So tifwiw but I have really really solid info.

Doesn't someone in the athletic department monitor atlhletes' class attendance and grades? If so, how did this become a surprise?

Well this is just false because all athletes class attendance is monitored and the coaches know who misses everything from classes to tutoring and study sessions

This is total BS; the players are monitored and there is a system in place to address scholarship athletes who don't attend class or turn in assignments. Whatever happened with JF had to have happened within the last few days before PM was informed.
I hope like hell that he wins his appeal and I think CPm hopes so too; he is smart not to count on it.

I'm kind of interested to know who the professor is.
Not that I don't completely support the decision of said professor. That department is very lenient on some things, and if they felt they needed to flunk him, he almost assuredly deserved it. Just curious who it was.

Why should he have to go to class if he came here to play BASEBALL, he ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS.

Yes, effort and showing you give a damn helps professor's justify giving some help. Lack of effort is just disrespectful to the professors and they have a job to do as well. These guys and girls (all sports) have more assets available to them to help them in the classroom than has ever been available. Show you care, put out the effort, get the help and get it done. No matter how good you are, you are one injury away from doing something besides making a living playing sports.
In my years at LSU among the different sports the top two sports academically were swimmers and football players. The bottom was always baseball players and men's gymnastics. Actually wrestling in those days but that sport is long gone at LSU.
