I would say living in Acadiana or South La is a requirement, but not necessarily being Cajun. If you are a Waguespack from Vacherie who is tanner then leather and can rig a crawfish trap in 5 seconds you arent a Cajun but you sure as hell a coonass

We always used the word to mean a Cajun who is just a bit more crazy than the rest but it's the same. Cujon is crazier than coonass. Cujons spend time in jail and shite.
