I don't know what the NRA rag's author had for a frame of reference, but he sure seemed to think the TNT rounds produced a huge muzzle flash. The young'uns in our family like the .22 WMR fireballs -- but it can't be great for maintaining your night vision.

I hunt with an extremely bright light so night vision isn't too much of a concern, but if I'd like less if I can have less.

I image those self defense loads would have low-flash powder. I'm gonna probably try some.
