Will the 2011 football team ever be honored at a football game?

Don't shoot me for asking. They won the sec, but lost the big one against a fellow sec team. Will they honor that team in 2021?

That was one of the best football teams LSU ever had. That defense was practically nfl loaded and every opponent struggled against it.

They deserve to be be, but its never going to happen. That team will always be linked to the NC Game and the decline that followed.

Maybe a 10 year reunion, maybe 20 after 1/9.

That team was definitely one of the best ever in lsu history..and personally my favorite. So loaded and went through beating top 10 teams week after week. Could of gone down as one of the best seasons ever..thats why it just makes the NC loss that much worse

And to think we were only a Jordan Jefferson away from being national champs

That team will only ever be known for the 1-9-12 debacle, which was the darkest day in LSU football history. Great team, great players, epic absence on the largest stage.
Sure, let's honor them. Let's also keep Miles as head coach until he retires just because he won the 2007 trophy and had a one loss season in 2011.

For what? They shite in the bed on the biggest night of the entire season.

Of course they will, just like all other sec championship teams. Half the stadium gets honored during football games anyway.

Best LSU team I've ever seen take the field.

They will honor the SEC champs. Pretty sure they did for the 2001 team.
If they don't, it would be wrong.

LSU has only won 3 national titles, so even considering the loss in the BCS game, this was still the 4th best LSU season ever.
For those that bitch "the start of the decline", you should then consider exactly what that means- the "start" of a decline is the highest point. If you have no desire to honor the highest point of a program, you then shouldn't honor any of it.

Definitely-- on decade anniversaries, repeatedly.

Still talking about this shite? It was bama's night. If Lee had played probably would have turned out the same. Think of the 07 game vs Virginia tech. They were top 10 team and we crushed them. No one expected it. shite happens.
