you know who else is not worried about our navy? Russia. If it came to war tomorrow we could control the Atlantic and Pacific both. Meanwhile Russian tanks are rolling across Poland. And by the time we could muster enough force to pose a serious threat to their advance, they'd be pissing in the Rhine. A war in Europe would be a Continental affair with conventional land formations and land based aircraft carrying the lion's share of the fight. The best use of the navy in such a war would be to keep the Atlantic open to bring over supplies and forces from the US. The problem is we don't have enough in Europe right now to hold the Russian's back long enough for a modern day "REFORGER" to be of any use.
