The title says it all, good old fashioned trapping of cats in a neighborhood.

Frowned upon? Trashy? FAF?

A woman posted in a neighborhood group the other day that her cat without a collar was missing. Today she posted that she had found the cat in a trap 1 block over from her house. She talked about how she freed the cat and posted pics of the house doing the trapping. Another poster recommended stealing the trap to prevent this happening in the future.

I interjected that theft and trespassing are against the law, and that posting pictures of the house could make the OP liable if any PETA types decided to vandalize the home. My post received mixed reviews much to my delight.

Where do you stand on this issue which appears to be the dark seedy underbelly of suburban living?

This.

Pay one of the urban youths to do it. They are untouchable by law enforcement.

I picked up a trap today for this exact purpose. I can't use a .22 in a neighborhood. These stray shits are annoying as hell

It was probably a coon or opossum trap but the dumb arse cat got caught instead.

ETA a .22 with some subsonic solves your cat problem.

Trap the damn cat and bring it to a no kill shelter or have a organization have it spayed/neutered and then relocated. No need to kill the fricking thing. Sadistic bastards on here make me fricking sick.

Well thats illegal so I wouldnt do that. It could also be animal control's property. If I was the cat owner, I would let the person with the trap know that this specific cat is my cat and that if it gets in the trap to please let it go.

She should just talk to them and ask them what they are trapping and maybe keep the cat inside in the meantime.

My neighbor and I are trapping coons right now and have an understanding that my outside cat is to be let loose immediately if she goes in it.

My wife has five cats. I'm hoping the bobcats from the creek across the street get hungry soon.

I argued with a bunch of people in our neighborhood yesterday about this. They all want to bitch about people's dogs randomly getting out (not mine) but think it's perfectly fine to let their cats roam freely to walk on cars and dig up flower beds. For some reason they think leash laws dont apply to cats.
frick cat people. From here on out I'm gonna make any cat in my yard disappear.

Crazy cat hoarder lady for a neighbor. I kept catching them, she kept getting new ones. After I caught 11 and kept seeing new ones, I called Animal Control. Found out she was a hoarder and didn't have water or power. Social Services took her away from there, and I won the war.

This was around Hyacinth and Stuart. Dropped this fricker off across the interstate on Bawell, and the bastard was back two days later

Stuck this one in my buddy's garage one day while he was at work and texted him this picture. He was not a happy camper

Crazy uncle got in trouble for shooting the strays in his neighborhood with a .22, so he hooked up a metal saucer filled with milk to a car battery...

Not advocating, just putting it out there
