jesus christ, the crux of this entire argument is whether or not collins was being investigated as a suspect. that's it. i really couldn't care less about how likely it was he actually killed the girl. that's not even the argument. i'm sorry if some of you think collins submitting a dna sample was no big deal, but in the real world you are not asked for a dna sample during a criminal investigation if the police don't think there's any chance you were involved. that's just a fact whether any of you choose to accept it or not.

Jesus instead of admitting it you are doubling down on stupid.

Did it occur to you that Collins likely submitted a DNA sample, knowing he wasn't the father, to further distance himself from the murder?

Yes that's exactly why I think he did it. What about my post makes you think differently? What Collins thought or knew is irrelevant. It's what the police department investigating the case thought or knew that is relevant. They did not know until he provided a DNA sample that he was not the father. They asked him to provide the DNA sample because they were investigating a murder where one theory is pretty clearly that the baby's father may be the guilty party. Otherwise, what value do you think his DNA sample would serve to the police?

Did Les help the Cowboys sign La'el? Just curious. I know Les has history with the Cowboys and he seems to be especially proud of his offensive lineman.

Is that the same police department who said, "COLLINS IS NOT A SUSPECT"?

Player's want to play for Dallas (AP,La'el, Chris Johnson, etc.)

People within the league know what teams have potential.. Fan ignorance (and the cowboys have plenty of that) fails to see what others within the league see.

The Cowboys are back and everybody is salty.

Probably didn't want to guarantee his entire contract and give him the highest UFA signing bonus possible

All Tiger fans wish him nothing but the best...it's time to move on...just one note from the voice of experience...the best "poon tang" can sometimes cost a lot of stress in ways not anticipated! It's hardly ever really free! lol

Not being drafted and getting 3 years for $1.65 million makes "going Jamarcus Russell" unpossible

So the team with arguably the best line in football found will find a way to sign Collins, but the Saints couldn't?

The Cowboys pulled out all the stops and showed La'el that he was a truly valuable asset. I'm betting Les called JJ and made sure the cowboys realized how great a player/person he is.

That and JJ probably slid La'el a little extra with a signing bonus

Before last Thursday's draft, LSU's Collins was an automatic first-rounder. But he went undrafted after Baton Rouge (La.) police said they wanted to talk to him in connection with the murder of a woman and the subsequent death of her baby boy. Baton Rouge police said all along that Collins was not a suspect in the case but teams nevertheless red-flagged him until this week, when a paternity test found Collins is not the father of the deceased child and a polygraph test demonstrated he was being truthful about not being involved in the double-homicide. (Sources tell me that the investigation there is about to turn to some folks with even higher profiles than this LSU football player who may have been set up to look guilty by some powerbrokers.)

I would sure like to think he did! La'el deserves it.
