May have been posted.
Very interesting that they were going to take Shelton if Cleveland took Peat. I think they would've taken Shelton if he was on the board, regardless of whether Peat was there.
He also said they took calls about teams trying to trade back into the first at pick 31.
Said there were a few defensive players (other than ILBs) and a WR they were looking at with #31.
I'm guessing one of those players will be there for us today.
I think you can safely assume our 2nd round pick will be D-line or a WR if the one he's referencing makes it to us.

that 5th year option is huge, and it's why picking at the end of the 1st is completely different than in years past. You take the guy you want the most even if he may be a "reach" in others' eyes. To trade out of that spot would require a premium too, because you are losing out on that extra year

I'm guessing its Perryman,Kendricks & Devin Smith.

And Eli Harold.

I wouldn't mind Goldman falling to 44. I really thought he would be taken in the 1st.

I agree with all this. I also agree with Payton and it was a solid round.
As for the rest:
Chargers traded, wr there, linebacker, gobble gobble blah blah

Would love to know what we were offered and Anthony could likely have been had 7-10 picks or so later. There is some talent left. Any of these would be good additions - Harold, Strong, Goldman, Smith or Odighizuwa. Even Flowers may not be a bad pick.

I dont think we settled. I think he was the best all around ILB in the draft.JMHO

Harold and Goldman would be nice.

Based on people's rankings other than the Saints... Obviously they had him highly rated.

Not Smith. It was Dorsett(or Perriman). Payton said something to the effect that it settled itself which sounds to me like they were deciding between Dorsett, Anthony, and maybe another defensive player that went ahead of us.

I think he means they reviewed all the LBs, then settled on Anthony. As in came to a decision.
