Biggest upside of selecting Petty at 31... Is not selecting in the top 5 after Drew retires. Everybody knows he's getting older and we don't have a replacement for him. Management know this

So are all the other players, that's what happens when you stay alive.

Even while getting older, he is still outperforming a lot of young guys not named Luck. He will play for at least another 5 years; therefore, it makes no sense to draft someone this high now unless management knows for a fact he will be great.

I slightly agree only because I don't want to live through the season Indy had to be able to get Luck. I would rather have someone that's been learning for 2-3 years than have to have a suicide inducing season to get a NFL ready college QB. That being said I still don't want in the first. Maybe the second if we have a great first round.
