Mayweather v. Pacquiao. Bar cover question?

I am here in Houston/Katy. I asked at one Hooters and was told admission was $25. Another place (Stadia) just had a sign to ask the manager. Assuming better seats near better TVS were pricier.
I am not watching. I am working that night. Just wondering the ridiculous numbers others are hearing.
$25 is not ridiculous to me. It is ridiculous however if I am standing in a packed hooters shoulder to shoulder struggling to get another beer.
Discuss.

Me either. 12 rounds of Floyd dancing and backing up. Fighting flawless defensive fight.
I assume he will out point and frustrate manny. Which would just frustrate me.

No doubt. Been there, done that. Unanimous decision in favor of Mayweather.

Bars can't just pay the normal fee and be done with it. I forget if they are charged by the person or something like $1500 but which ever it is is expensive

The Sporting News in Baton Rouge

$40 Advance
$50 Door
And you still have to buy drinks and food.
Edit: Sorry you get 2 draft beers!

I had always heard bars paid a fee based on fire marshal occupancy number.

Yep. The Golden Boy/Pretty Boy fight was terrible.

You got the 5 and the 1 backwards.

$20 covers and $100 for tables is what I'm seeing in Charlotte

We got 4 reserved spots at the Hooters bar in The Gaslamp, downtown San Diego, for 20$ each. Ticket includes two 10$ coupons for your next visit. A few of the other bars were charging 30+. Some hotels are having viewing parties too but couldn't tell you any details about those.

$25 is too low IMO. At that price you are talking being packed in like sardines, standing shoulder to shoulder for hours and never getting to sit and super slow service.
$40 cover seems about right for a decent experience at a bar where you can actually enjoy the event.

I know bars pay per event based on capacity. They are not paying the $99.95 a home is going to pay.
Capacity and fire code based with possible number of TVs on site too.
The 25 dollar number I mentioned was for Hooters. So, yes they will be packed.

Yeah, I watch a lot of the UFC fights at hooters, but the big UFC pay per views are too crowded to sit now. Can't do it for this fight without a table reservation and hooters doesn't do those here.

Friends in nashville are just putting their big screen in the backyard, making people pitch in $5, and having a party.

Me either but I figured that cost would be covered easily with the amount of people that would come and eat/drink

Well if that's a flat rate for all restaurants most of them simply can't afford it due to population density differences.
BWW in Dallas can cover that fee without a problem. In some lower density area like Billings MT, probably not.
