Moving to Lafayette in a couple months for a new job from BR. I'm about to turn 24 so just looking for some information on a few things

First is any advice on where I should look to live either a 1 bed room apartment or areas to look in for cheap rent houses. Or areas I should avoid.

Secondly where are some good places to go out for a drink or two on the weekends and meet some people? I have lived in BR almost my whole life so I wont really know anyone.
TIA

I lived at Audubon Lake apartments for a year, it was a good place. Any of the apartments around River Ranch I'm sure are fine, and there's new apartments at Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville.

Where's the new job? Traffic sucks so take that into account as far as where you want to live.

One of America's hidden treasures. Authentic Cajun food unlike New Orleans, according to one poster.

If you're going to work at 6am, traffic won't be an issue on the morning commute.

You'll enjoy it. I moved here 3 years ago for work and really like it.

Traffic isn't bad going out of town. You'll be opposite traffic.

I'm not sure I'd you're being sarcastic or not, but that poster would be telling the truth

The Affliction wearing lifted F250 driving crowd isn't as large as this board would lead you to believe.

What city are you going to be working in? That would give a better idea of where you should live.

Fin posted a comical yet accurate map of Laffy some time ago. Look for it or ask him to post it again. Broussard/Youngsville seem to be desireable areas to live or RR. Can't help you on where to drink- I GTFO at 4:30 every day. But the food scene is solid. Where are you working? South or North?
