I think Reke has played admirably at times this season, and at times he has been a numbskull. I don't think he's ideal as our PG. I agree that he's better off the bench more than anything. He's got a certain talent and skill set that can ignite the team when needed.
I really like the flashes I've seen from a semi-healthy Holiday. At this point, a discussion of the worth of the trade is pointless. If he comes back healthy, I really believe we'll be good shape at PG with Norris coming off the bench.

Having 3 really solid guards that can also play different positions when needed is what quite a few teams wish they could have imo.
I wouldn't mind a vet guy that can shoot at the end of the bench though.

Ppl must have forgot a lot about Jrue while he has been injured. Tyreke def. has better court vision, no? What about Jrue's game shows his extraordinary court vision? (Their assist rate is pretty much the same even though Tyreke is more of a scorer and Jrue is more of the facilitator)
That being said, Tyreke was also the second best player THIS season, though that is more of the problem instead of the solution lol. Jrue needs to be the better player, wasn't on the court enough to be that. Jrue also has some very bad parts to his offensive game. Lacks penetration and takes way to many dumb jump-shots/floaters.

He might have better court vision but that doesn't mean he makes the right choices.
Jrue can penetrate but his biggest problem is he isn't aggresive enough and defers to tyreke to do the dirty work.
Jrue also exerts a lot of energy defensively so that may be another reason.

Oh yeah, then there's his defense.

Jrue faces the same problems when he's running the offense. He dribbles down the clock A LOT too and settles for his own fair share of shitty shot choices. Maybe it's the inability for their teammates to get open or just a terrible offensive scheme.
Evans is 2nd only to Davis when it comes to positively impacting the team's offensive rating this year while he is on the floor. Says something to me.
Ive knocked Evans a ton in the past, but he was a different player running the point this season. I am not judging him on his whole body of work while in NOLA. He's just bred to play with the ball in his hands and is more effective, imo.

If we can get Reke to buy in to being a 6th man that comes off the bench and attacks
That's the only way he fits into the big picture.

who is the best lane penetrator on the team?
Reke
Who is the best offensive fast break (transition) player on the team?
Reke
Who's the best point guard (offensive tempo and on defense) on the team?
Jrue

I really can't disagree more. The break has been a glaring weakness of his game. He hardly ever pushes the ball and, when he does, rarely dishes to the open man.

Who is actually on the court?
Reke
That one is kinda a big one.
Jrue is solid, especially on D, but he is timid with the ball.
If someone wants to argue Reke isn't the long term answer, I will listen to that, but as soon as they state that Jrue is the answer all I can think is "WTF games are you watching..."

I'm definitely not a Tyreke hater, but I don't like the pace he plays with now. I don't know if it's having to think too much or a Monty mandate, but he just plays slower than he used to. In Game 3 he helped push us out to the lead by getting steals and running, he used to run hard on every rebound, but since he became starting PG, he stopped running.

Really? He's the only guy who pushes it. Cole does too, although in limited time.
If there is any knock on Evans, it's finishing at the rim and foul shooting, for me.

One thing I noticed, his assists usually come to players in the lane or close to the goal. He hits the corner 3 guy on occasion. He needs to look to the perimeter for open looks

Gordon is hardly ever in position to push it, as he actually defends and tries for offensive rebounds. That said, Gordon often starts the push with a quick outlet pass.

I think Reke is a very talented athlete who is willing to fill in anywhere. I would like to see us keep him. I do think Jrue is the better Pg and defender. Hopefully with everyone healthy and no major international tourneys we can see some more development.

who's better? Or, who on this team has scored more fast break baskets than Reke? Maybe AD. But, I'm talking steal and go.
