Damn, the Lafayette/LC district has 1, 4, 5, 6 and 13 in 5A?

How is that even possible?

Interesting bracket.

Locally, I'd say both Chalmette(26) vs West Monroe(7) and Shaw(30) at Zachary(3)have real good chances to upset.

Shaw has had a disappointing season relative to expectations but not a team you want to see in 1st round if you are Zachary.

BM, Hahnville looks like a close, competitive low scoring game.

HC and Rummel split this year. HC draws Catholic league opponent in round 1 for second year in a row.

Jesuit and Destrehan look like solid favorites in round one.

Have not seen much of the northshore teams.

West Monroe went 15-0 in district and won 17 of their last 18. The one loss was 2-1 against top 10 Airline. You might pull off the upset, but they're not exactly over seeded.

This is more of a post bragging on my nephew so sorry. Does anyone know about LSU baseball commit Brennen Maddox from Fairview High School in Class B. My nephew is pitching against last year's state champs Fairview tomorrow. Monterey lost a close one to Fairview last year in the semifinals.

Monterey is the 1 seed this year. My nephew is 6'4 but only about 175 lbs but a great pitcher. He has touched the low 90's but sits mainly in the high 80's. really good curve. He didn't hit the camp circuit during the offseason or gain any weight so he doesnt have much exposure. He was one of two players to pitch a no hitter in last years playoffs with the other being Manny Miles.

He has no offers at the moment but he definitely has the talent to play college ball.

I would love to know more about the Maddox kid to see how legit he is.
