ETA: Apparently the reg has changed and they are authorized for use in the Class A or B dress uniform.

Sal, I don't remember any of that. I'm just curious as to reasoning behind rule. Does military feel like it sends a gay type message, in that you're a sissy? Can umbrella be used as a weapon? what's behind the rule?
