A lot of this stems from stolen valor being ruled a "victimless crime" by judges and politicians.

In every single one of these videos the servicemembers doing the "calling out" are always much bigger assholes than the posers.

I'm calling the cops for stolen valor!

This response written not addressing or in response to any poster's comment. Just the opinion of an old guy.
Some/Many/Most servicemen and women see themselves as belonging to a brotherhood or sisterhood of those who have taken up arms in defense of our nation. To have served is a special thing, regardless of what anyone else might think. I know that anyone who never served in a branch of the military might not understand. That does not stop it from being the truth.
Service and honor (Your position in a long line of service stretching back to the foundation of our nation) are a part of the training of all branches of the military. When a warrior falls, the understanding is that someone will always be there to take their place. When you are told this enough times and see the principle in application, you begin to see the uniform itself as special. You begin to see the service and your branch as something special. From your very first day, you are surrounded by people who believe these things with all their heart. Eventually you likely believe them too. Otherwise you leave the line.
I have no problem seeing ex-soldiers and active duty personnel get upset when they encounter an imposter. Because I turn and walk away from it, doesn't mean they should.
I read where Stolen Valor only applies when tangible benefit is achieved by faking your service. IMO service in any branch of the US military is an honor that must be earned at what is often a very great cost and any falsehood of service is an attempt to receive a tangible benefit.
Perhaps I am one of a few who believe this, but I do.
edited to add:
The claim of having earned a medal (like when you falsely wear it - or wear the ribbon representing the medal) when you did not earn it is a bad thing that goes far beyond simply claiming service. The people who do that deserve whatever expression of anger is thrown at them. Again, just my opinion.
