I am not sure I want this cloud storage.

Has anyone used the new Photo from Apple yet?

I'm happy with it, as most reviews seem to be. It's very well laid out and makes things seamless with your iPhone and iPad.

It's pretty much just like the iPhone app. It sorts by year > location. I'm not sure what it does if you have location services turned off for photos. I guess just by date

You don't have to use the cloud option.

The new app is light years better than that piece of shite iPhoto.

I am still getting used to it. Photo editing is supposedly improved, but I'm not finding it as intuitive.

It's taken over a week to upload my library into iCloud. Apparently I had over 10,000 photos. However, I'm not sure if that counts the hidden duplicate it creates once you edit a photo.

Supposedly it will free up disk space on your computer by keeping full resolution copies on iCloud, but that doesn't seem to be working on my Mac yet. However, it did import downsized versions of all my pics from iPhoto onto my phone. I really like that feature.
