The MVP is a weird award. Kobe and Shaq combined for two. It's very possible that Davis could finish as an all-time great without winning two MVPs.

Definitely true. Shaq and Kobe are two of the all time greats, both easily top 15 players all time, and they didn't get multiple MVPs. It is what it is.

As long as AD keeps developing and turns into a great player, I really don't care about any awards but Finals MVP.

That being said, the media hype surrounding him is intense. If the rumors are true, he finished 4th in voting this year. He'll be the league MVP at some point.

A lot of that probably had to do with them stealing each other's credit during their prime years. Neither of them had the PERs that AD did. There's a pretty good correlation between MVP and PERs even though it seems like a weird award.
