It's too early to tell anything this early in a baseball season. Last year at this point in the season, the Braves were 8-4 and we know how that turned out.

The thing that anyone will tell you about Heyward is he's streaky but his defense is good enough to carry him when he's not hitting well, and he walks enough that he generally gets on base at a decent rate. His WAR last year was 5.2 which is All-Star level. For whatever reason there are lots of Braves fans hate Heyward, but he's an exciting player who is still really young.

He will explode to a .250 average and 10-15 homers. Amazing player.

Solid player that will hopefully find a rhythm at the plate. Despite your best efforts to troll, most STL fans aren't going to freak out over his lack of production at the plate thus far.

Heyward's swing sucks and he stands too far off the plate (memories of getting drilled in the jaw?).

His defense has been fine, but has not dispelled the notion that its statistical significance is overrated.

I still think it was a good trade, but am growing less sanguine about the idea of extending him for huge money.

Seems like a cool dude (I had no idea his parents both went to Dartmouth), but that swing is going to have him beating balls into the ground all season, and I don't expect Mabry to fix it.
