Didn't realize Kendrick Perkins is on the Cavs team. He may be my least favorite NBA player of all time. I'm not fond of Dwight Howard either. The Rockets will get past the Mavs, but hopefully won't advance in their next series.

I saw Chris Weber at the beginning
Does he talk much during the commentary or is that him?

I love the hawks fan base. People act like there's some bandwagon contingent, but there obviously isn't. Nobody outside of Atlanta identifies as a hawks fan. And it is the team with its identity most closely tied to the city IMO. The hawks certainly feel more like Atlanta than the falcons or braves to me.

What's wrong with the Saints fan base? It's one of the top fanbases in the league easily.
Atlanta is a corporate city with people from all over which make their teams have really fair weather fan bases. The Braves have a good following throughout the south though. I like Atlanta, but it's definitely in the bottom of sports cities. Miami would be the worst.

They don't come out to watch a loser, but when were winning we pack out every stadium.

The Braves following is all over in the south. I know Braves fans here, along with Yankees, Red Sox, Astros and Cubs.

I miss the Omni center and the feel that place had on game day Tree Rollins and all that.
nola feels like a second rate flea market...

Exactly. While it's the best and most popular franchise in Atlanta, the braves identify as the souths team. Which is awesome. I like it. But the hawks are Atlanta through and through.

Why do you feel that Hawks fanbase is one of the worst? It was huge back in the 80's and the team has been in a cruise control of mediocreness for the past couple decades. There is incredible excitement about this team and the years to come.

I also think this is incorrect. This is possibly one of the best times ever to be a sports fan in Atlanta. All teams look to have a bright future. Both Falcons and Braves will have brand new stadiums, the Hawks are setting themselves up to be a power for years to come. Falcons have a new coach which could be huge and the Braves have made huge strides in retooling the team to be a major power in the years to come as well.
I know you are a Saints fan and there is a normal shitfest of talking back and forth about Atlanta and Nola, but your view of things is not as on point as you think.

It's not that it's horrible, same with The Falcons. I'm sure the locals that support the teams have and always have been great. But Atlanta is a big time corporate city. A lot of these tickets are being purchased by the most casual of fans (a lot that probably aren't even from the area), that'll only show up if the team is winning a lot, such as being a top seed. The corporate style makes for a bad sports town. Locally, born and raised in the area fans, I'm sure they are as passionate as any.

I don't hate Atlanta in the slightest. I've enjoyed my time there. I hate the Falcons, couldn't care less about any of the other teams, and wouldn't talk shite about them or the city.

It just was weird to hear someone talk about how bad the Hawks fanbase is. I didn't think it has really been on anyones radar until the past couple years.

Playoff games have been great atmospheres for the past 8 years. Regular season attendance has not been great over that period, though, until this year. In all fairness, there was no reason to go to a regular season game. We knew we'd be mediocre and in the playoffs regardless, so just wait till April and go. This is why it has seemed like away fans were more present than hawks fans. People really were going to see other teams because there was nothing compelling about the hawks in December or whatever.
But anyways, first half as expected. About a 10 point lead throughout. Nets are playing better than I thought, but nothing to worry about so far. I was struggling through ordering pizza because I'm apparently 9 years old, so I wasn't as focused as I'd have liked. Hopefully pizza gets here at the half and I can settle in.
