I have a teenage daughter who happens to be a pretty talented artist.
She has taken a few art classes and really enjoys them, and always seems to learn a lot.
She's open to learning anything, but would really like some help with acrylics and oils.
Suggestions?
Just fyi, there is a program called 7 Elements that she has participated with last summer. I'd recommend that to kids 13 or younger!

Ever considered a private tutor? My best friend graduated in art and teaches at brusly and port allen elementary schools. She's extremely talented.

Good idea. They have a "Fine Art" class. I'll give them a call.

Yes, I'd be open to a private tutor for her.

What kind of stuff is she interested in?

Hobby lobby workshops are Meh. If I were you, I would call a local high school art teacher. One on one gets you way more for your money. Also you will be able to specify what you would like for her to do.

Yes, I'll probably get her some private tutoring, but would also like for her to do some more workshops and classes... she's gotta be "somewhere" during the summer.
She does TAG art at school, so I might talk to her teacher about some recc's also.
This morning she told me she wants some instruction in acrylics and oils.
Ok... proud dad here. This is one of her best works.

That's beautiful.
Encourage her as much as possible.
How old is she?

just turned 14.
First chair in band, and straight A's, gets encouragement from us, but highly self-motivated.
Wish all parents had it so easy.
Hence my search for good instruction... Continuing to encourage!
and thanks for the compliment. She did that work at school in class, so I know she had no "help."

Faces are the hardest. She is doing exemplary work for her age.
