6.0 was the worst motor made. I wish they'd being back the 7.3 with twin turbos. I'd buy one.

As far as buying a used F250, I would bet with the oil crash that right now there are a lot to choose from.

I have and am currently living the nightmare that is the 6.0 engines. Have a couple 550's with the 6.0 and I have spent $20k plus this year alone keeping them running. As soon as the crews that use them get done on their project out of town I sending them to auction and replacing with '12 plus. Ford and international (i think they made the engine) should be kicked in the nuts for this engine.

You'll probably never see a mechanical diesel in a pickup again.

The new ones are very good.

The 6.0 was not that bad once bulletproofed. If not hotrodded they would go until the turbos puked oil. Round about 240k on average.

Best one is to do the ford with a 5.9 cummins swap. Best combo never made. Given how much you can get a shitty 6.4 with a junk motor for, it almost makes sense.
