Was it within 1000 feet of the school? Then it is a firearm free zone.

It's on highway 90. I'm not sure how that plays into it, but I'm quite sure thousands of drivers drive down that portion of hwy 90 each day with a gun in their car.

Anyway, that's not the point of the thread. Hope the cop pulls through. Him being taken to University means it was life threatening.

A firearm free zone is feet not yards and the schools are just over 1000 feet from the road. The school zone refers to the road laws because of the kids, busses and vehicles that have to cross HWY 90.
