Not much, as soon as they started getting difficult I changed my focus to learning how to use social skills coupled with simple math to manipulate finance and increase my net worth exponentially faster than the nerds trying to solve complex equations from engineering textbooks.
What a badass.

I figured out the deflection of a cantilevered beam today
Took me a couple hours but I got it

Step 1 Ego busted in 288 thread
Step 2 Post most uninteresting thread of all time to show how smart you are

I never knew how to do Laplace Transforms in college, of course it didn't help that our class was "taught" by a TA who just scribbled equations on the board the entire time and never actually taught anything.

Boundary layer problems using mehod of scales and / or mehod matched asymptotic expansions.

2D transient heat transfer problem.
Had to write a program in matlab and it took it 8 hours to solve. 'Twas a bitch.

True, but don't kid yourself into thinking there's not a ton of money out there for those that can solve complex math equations.
My field is turbulent Navier-Stokes. None of us are broke. Hell, Clay Institute will write you a check for 1 million bucks, cash, if you can solve even the most simplified form of Stokes.

In an exam?
Given known concentrations of a DNA binding protein, nucleic acid, and change of energy in the solution upon mixing, calculate the number of water molecules displaced by the interaction
In a real world context?
Had a well drilled on our property, and was able to get a pretty good estimate of the gallons per minute output knowing how many horse power a motor we had and the depth of the well.
The latter was far more satisfying.

Your 'joke' is perceived the truth far more than it is humor.
Plus, try being funny next time you make a joke. Might help your cause.

Molecular orbital calculation for pentadiene determining electron density at each (conjugated) carbon.
...not approximating but actually solving to a few decimal places.
