$20/week for a single guy is not difficult

I used to do it all the time as a bachelor

I agree. Ill go to Fresh Market today and get 4lb ground beef and 4lb chicken breast for 2.29/2.99 /lb respectively and that will be my meat for the month. I spend a little more than 20 bucks there. The rest of the moth I will go shopping each week for what I need to cook that week and that totals to about $20/week.

This. I have a wife and two kids now, so my grocery bills are way too high, but I often think back fondly to my single days and how I could eat very well for not too much money.

No doubt. Man I use to ball out on sub $20 a week. Sunday night - Thursday night. Eat everything in the house then splurge out Friday and Saturday.

RBR, jambalaya, spaghetti etc would be the bulk for the week.
