I'm there in June on a CA golf crawl and would appreciate places to play. Will probably play 2-3 rounds in two days. Want to play PGA Stadium course and at least one other. Thanks in advance.

Will you be around San Diego?
Where are y'all starting?

I've always thought that the La Quinta area has the nicer and more appealing of the courses in Coachella Valley. You can't go wrong with a lot of the courses in La Quinta, but I would say hit up La Quinta Resort Mountain Course if you can't get on to any of the private courses.
You've got a nice trip planned.

I would not recommend the Marriott course. It is in nice condition, but it's a full on resort course and plays very slow. It just wasn't worth the high green's fee.
I also played Eagle Falls down in Indio, CA and had a great time. Challenging, fun desert course that you will be able to play at a brisk pace. Staff was nice and overall a great experience. The only downside was the pro shop was pretty much a shack, but not a big deal.
