It's probability. Getting to MLB is highly unlikely in general. It's even more difficult for outfielders which are basically a dime a dozen.

Power lefties and switch-hitting catchers have better odds... But what's a 1% chance compared to a .01% chance?

When he came in, it was stated many times the family wanted him to stay all 4 years/get his degree. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he stayed.
