I guess you guys have some facts to back up those assertions. I don't have any knowledge of such things.
I will say this, my two experiences with filing a complaint with the BBB produced a fair resolution for me in both instances. Again, as a consumer, I appreciate the BBB, and I actually have a slightly higher opinion of companies who are members of the BBB, all things being equal.
I know it's far from a sure thing, and I'm sure it can be abused, or can be meaningless depending on the circumstances, but, again, I appreciate what they are trying to do. By conception, It's a positive market solution (albeit a limited one) to a common free market hazard - lack of information and lack of accountability.

In today's internet world full of online reviews about products and companies, Angie's List, social media like Facebook that gives everyone an instant voice, I just don't see how there is a lack of information available to consumers.

ehh. i get the sentiment there, but it's basically a pay to play situation. Pay into our system as a system and then it can work our for you, might not, but at least you gave us money.
I have a bit of a skew on there due to some things like the Gartner Magic Quadrant, but I don't like things like that.
