I keep hoping that just ONCE they'll make another WWII game.

Too Human was a pretty big failure.

For what it's worth. I liked ET.

Its problems were a combination of:
difficult controls and frustrating pit aspect,
too much hype setting up for a letdown,
terrible timing after a string of bad games.
It was the last straw
For what it is, if you look at it as just any other game, it's fine. You're supposed to find different pieces and gather them. It randomizes the locations, so every time you play the game it's different. For Atari, that's pretty innovative. That's really enough. It really just had a big flaw with it being too difficult to get out of the pits, combined with too much hype and terrible timing.

I give you the Phillips CDI.
This was the other half (result/consequence) of Nintendo's failed 32 bit CD add on to the SNES (the first half is the Play Station, of course).

I would say that Nintendo kicking Sony to the curb over naming rights to the CD drive (The PlayStation) and going with Phillips (which never actually produced anything) was probably the biggest failure in gaming by one company. Nintendo Playstation!!! Nintendo might never have lost control of the market and possibly put others out of business.
Yeah, while Nintendo had some of the greatest games of all time on the 64, they should have gone with the disk and let Sony in on it. Nintendo created their own worst enemy.

Nintendo had the habit of pissing people off back then and that's one that didn't work out well for them

Yes, I agree, but Nintendo wanted licensing rights...so did Sony. Phillips didn't care. They simply wanted to be in some type of partnership with Nintendo. By the time it was nearly ironed out with Phillips, Sega's CD was not doing well. Nintendo then said screw the CD and walked away. Phillips fell apart; Sony accomplished great things. Nintendo saw their mistake....years after the fact.

Konami as a whole.
OK

Outside of metal gear, Konami is a joke now. And they are about to ruin that too.
Posted on 4/7/15 at 6:59 pm to Mr Gardoki
If they were a brand new company, maybe, but all time, and Metal Gear alone would exempt them from that list.

Halo: MCC
frick 343
MCC was defiantly as far as multiplayer goes a frick up but so far besides MCC Multiplayer 343 has done a great job with Halo

I think he's just referring to their recent history, similar to capcom and atari... And Nintendo... SHOTS FIRED!

Metal Gear is all Kojima.
Konami is one of the biggest game companies in the world, with a horrible track record and responsible for running some of the best game franchises into the ground.
It's not an incorrect answer, just one you don't like.
