The NFL is taking a significant step in gender equality. Sarah Thomas is set to become the first female referee to work a regular-season NFL game this fall, Bleacher Report's Tim Daniels writes.
Thomas has been in the pipeline for a while now, getting training during pre-season campus. She has been at the Saints training facility a few times during the last couple of years. But finally she will get her first shot during the regular season.

I'll bet she would not be able to find a pizza joint in Indiana to cater her wedding.

This is stupid.
Officials for any sport should be limited to individuals who played at whatever level they're attempting to officiate.
Frick gender equality just for the hell of it.

This is dumb. You're telling me she is more qualified than every male official in consideration for this job? I hate 2015.
Men are stronger and faster than women. This is not sexist. It is a fact of life. She does not belong on a field of professional athletes. Put her in the fricking replay booth if you insist on hiring a woman.

So she got the job because she's female. How is this not gender discrimination against males?

It is. Welcome to America 2015. This isn't illegal. It is encouraged.

I think that is 100% false. The BEST officials I know in many sports never played the game they officiate. It makes you actually learn the rule book and not be biased to an action

She better be decent. I don't give a damn if she's on par with other refs. But the second - and I mean the frickING SECOND - the Saints get railed on some horrendous call by her in the name of gender equality I'm going to raise some hell. And by "raise hell" I mean throw a temper tantrum in my home and blame Goodell
