A family owns a resort in Key West. The family consists of a mom and dad and three sons and a daughter. Two of the sons and the daughter live in Key West and stay in touch with their parents. The other son is the black sheep of the family. The family has been through a lot. They have told lies and they have done good and bad things.

I finished it yesterday. I thought it was outstanding. I have some thoughts on why it may be very difficult to have as good a season two but no way of going into that without spoilers.

There is another thread on this show. Maybe we can bump that and change that to a discussion thread with spoilers. Especially since there is already spoilers in that thread.

I'm two episodes in and like it so far. Just FYI, it's set in Islamorada, which is an hour and a half/2 hours north of Key West.

Can someone give a little synopsis of what this show is about?
To add a little to Large Farva's description, the Rayburns are an esteemed clan because they've been there for so long and have built a respectable business running the reosrt. A pier is going to be named in their honor. The blacksheep son Danny comes home, but it's clear that the others are not comfortable with his presence, except for mom. Moms never give up on their kids, so everyone plays nice to keep her happy. The story slowly reveals the past to explain their relationships and motivations now, and the tension slowly builds until it's a real pressure cooker.

To add to that, it is interesting in it's story structure because it reveals early on that there was a terrible tragedy in the family that is central in the dynamic of the entire family structure.
The first few episodes they kind of lay down the outside pieces of the tragedy like you would a jigsaw puzzle, giving you a vague idea and then as it goes on they start adding the pieces a few at a time until by the end it's all laid out and you see the whole picture of what happened. It also jumps around in time a lot, both forwards and backwards.

Intriguing idea and plot.
Both the writing (specifically dialogue) and acting, aren´t really strong.
It was vapid enjoyment at best.
Bash away all....

Just finished episode 10, wow. For those saying 11-13 are the money episodes....if these next 3 are better than 10 I must be in for a real treat. I was blown away by this recent one. Can't wait to get home from work today, absolutely gonna finish up tonight.

I'm with you. Think its average at best. I'm on 10 now and only watching because I've already invested the time. I think maybe the issue is that this show would be much better if you didn't binge watch it as every episode is pretty much the same....Danny does something shady, Kevin does something to show is temper, Meg does something to show she doesn't like commitment, John does something to show he is the one who takes care of people, and then they have a flash back of Danny on the boat with the sister.
Maybe these next 3 are just that much better than the other 10 that all is forgiven, but as of now I'd give this show a 6 at best.

didn't you say in another thread you've only seen 2 episodes?
Look at all the other comments in the thread...it obviously picks up steam. I'm not saying you'll fall in love with it, everyone has different tastes. But my thoughts on the show now (and I haven't even finished, still have 3 eps left) compared to after 2 episodes are completely different.

long time ago. Glassman told me to keep watching.
I finished it a few days ago. Like someone else said, I was ´damn, I´ve made it this far, might as well continue´.
It needs to be finished, for sure.

I'm only 1 episode ahead of you. Gosh I wish I was sick right now so I could stay home and finish.

She has somehow not aged. She looks like the exact same girl from Freaks and Geeks, only taller.
