There was approximately one vehicle per household when that picture was taken compared to two now and twice as many households.

You think Detroit is a better music city than New Orleans?
Laughable. Professor Longhair was playing and invented rock and roll in the late 1930's. Also, jazz is the truly only great American contribution to the art world.
NOLA is a big beautiful mess. Best time to live here since I have been alive.

I see your point, but it's certainly debatable.

hats really fricking original Nurse...couldnt come up with anything on your own so you just had to regurgitate a bumper sticker?
Well it's my personal opinion on the place. So I'm supposed to make up something I don't believe?

Not at all. Young people moving here. Actual public school options for families. Paul, it is a good time. 400 murders a year to less than 200. The late 80's and early 90's were hell here.

Infrastructure is lackluster to say the least.
Crime should be at 60-80 murders a year, tops, for a city proper population with less than 400,000 people.

yea there are no big rocks to hike on

Actually no. I just said I love visiting NO, but couldn't live there that is all. I even said I would much rather visit NO and stay there the entire time than have to go to BR during my trips back to LA. That if I could convince friends and family in BR to just come to NO to see me there...I totally would.
I mean....if someone says they love visiting NYC...and visit on a regular basis, but just couldn't live there...does that mean they hate NYC??

Old port city, they are always grittier, with higher crime rates. shite goes down.

Whole lotta people slobbing in Matty in this thread. Probably getting hardons from those Lincoln commercials

Funny that you never miss an opportunity to knock Louisiana ..

Fwiw...when friends out here ask me about NO and if they should visit one day, I always tell them they def should. That NO is a very fun city to visit and that everyone can find something there to entertain them. I've had friends consider conferences held there for work and I always tell them to go.
Posted on 3/30/15 at 9:42 pm to TigahRag
Not NO though. Tgr misinterpreted my earlier post as knocking NO and that wasn't my intention at all.

He's already attacked the resident basketball poster and Paul Mainieri on the rant so somebody must have upset him today.

Yes so many of New Orleans' murders and violent crimes are committed by and on sailors and other transients.

I don't think we have a sailor problem. Even the employed stevedores are not a usual source of crime.
