Should Frying Oysters in a Flour Dredge Be a Felony Offense in Louisiana?

I think so. I just watched some Boston fool ruin some perfectly good oysters.

I ran out of cornmeal halfway through frying oysters once and ended up using seasoned flour to finish. They weren't bad but not nearly as good as the cornmeal.

For poboys, I do mix corn flour and corn meal. For straight oysters, it's corn meal all day, e'ry day.

What is the deal with fried oysters? I've always preferred them raw/Rockefeller. Is it just for po'boys?

Corn flour is my preference over corn meal. Too coarse a meal makes for gritty oysters.

Country people go corn meal..." refined "folks use corn flour. I can handle either, lean corn meal. Pull out a bag of flour an' we may tussle.

Oysters, properly served, are a treat any way they are presented. But, a plate of fried oysters, done right...crisp outside, moist inside...is Nirvana .

Yes and you corn flour people are wrong, too. Cornmeal only.

I can appreciate the right way to do it, but I can't eat them any way but raw.

Yes, people should go to jail for their cooking choices.

As I've said many times, I'm a cornmeal only gal. No flour, cornflour...none of that. It's just wrong. BUT, if someone prefers them that way, I don't think jail is the answer. Perhaps having them try cornmeal fried oysters against flour/cornfloured oysters is the way to go as sort of a suspended probation. If they can't be rehabilitated, they'll just have to continue to eat floured fried oysters for the rest of their lives.

You're far too lenient. I think it may be a hangin' offense.

I've looked and looked for cream meal. The only place I found it was online for 25 lbs/commercial size. I think it was the Louisiana brand. Uglesich's used cream meal.
