Agree with most of your post. But, New Orleans is MUCH safer than it was 25 years ago. There isn't a murder a day. Back then the city averaged 1.5 murders a day.

Is it really much safer? Or is the medical care that much better? I wonder if the amount of people being shot is more, less, or the same as in the past. To me, that would be the real indicator of how safe New Orleans is now.

new Orleans, I love it, but it fricking blows. Too many "people of culture" and no one wants to live next to or with "people of culture" because they're so incredibly stupid, violent, and are a drain on everyone's resources.
